When you use the App, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including phone model, operating system, and IP address. Additionally, as you browse the App, we collect information about the individual screens that you view. We refer to this automatically collected information as “Device Information”.
We may collect the following:
Name, phone number, email, password, and photos. Any password that you enter as the input for your account is stored as an encrypted copy. We also store the data you enter for your digital game collection, your tracked plays, and events attended or created. We refer to this information as “Personal Data”.
We use the Personal Data that we collect to:
- Communicate with you;
- Verify new accounts and authenticate sign in attempts;
- Observe your gaming behavior and/or general trends of all users; and
- When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, potentially provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our App (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the App, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
You do not automatically receive marketing emails from us. If you wish to receive emails regarding offers and product updates you must opt in to receive these merchandising newsletter emails. You may opt out from these newsletters at any time.
When you sign up for our newsletters, we are able to send you notifications of new product launches and features, events hosted by us, and other information of special interest particularly related to new game launches or updates.
Here at Cardboard Companion we take your privacy very seriously. We have implemented processes and protocols of the most stringent in nature, to reduce the risk of any event that could compromise your personal information. Any customer data that we store on location in the United States is secured by encrypted data. We restrict access to customer data on our platform by only providing access to a limited number of employees who have been vetted for their secure privacy practices. These employees act on a need-to-know basis in order to provide you with a satisfactory customer experience.
We do reserve the right to sell certain data that we collect to third parties. Any data sold to third parties will be anonymous—it will contain information on how you use the app that is tied to a unique ID, however it will NOT contain any personally identifiable information, such as that which you provided at time of signing up. Should you NOT want your usage data sold, please contact our Privacy Officer to opt out of that program.
Finally, we reserve the right to share your Personal Information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Additionally, if you are a European citizen, we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the App), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States. Furthermore, should you desire to conduct an audit of our data retention processes either as an individual or via an authorized representative, please contact our Data Protection Officer via the contact information below.
